Vestibule, Ames Hotel

The entrance to the Ames Hotel in Boston, MA. Rockwell Group renovated this 19th-century building, considered Boston’s first skyscraper, to embrace the 21st century as a luxury hotel. Romanesque arches and original fireplaces and moldings seamlessly combine with sleek marble floors, glittering lighting fixtures, and contemporary custom furniture in the lobby, fitness center, 113 guest rooms, and the Woodward tavern. .

Inspiring books from Inspiring people

Today I received these books from someone that I've been working along side the last few months. Working with him and receiving these books have been a huge inspiration for me and I've grown so much as a creative during this time. I personally love being inspired by others and inspiring others, it's a give and take sort of relationship as a creative and I hope you all share the same feelings. Enjoy!

Aesthetic Apparatus + Target

I first saw these awhile back in the Target windows and instantly thought wow that looks like Aesthetic Apparatus design. Not too long after that I saw a tweet talking about these designs posted on their blog http://blaawg.aestheticapparatus.com/?p=367 Designs like these for Target really impress me simply because Target is reaching out to some of the top local designers in Minneapolis and that is awesome! Still Life

Artist Gabriel Boray caught my eye with this still life painting. His attention to light, shadow, flow, and rhythm made my eye dance around this image. The Coldest Hour Is Just Before the Dawn - Akai

Local Musician John Keston Experiments

A former instructor of mine and friend, John Keston, has been experimenting with the HTML5 canvas and Processing.js to create some pretty sweet in browser visualizations. Feel free to check them out at http://aim.johnkeston.com/im2490/p5jsDemo/ one of the demo's does require FireFox 4 beta, but it's totally worth checking out. Also he has been very kind and provided all the code so you can experiment with his experiments.

Construction Paper Art

On a recent cover of Computer Arts magazine I saw a really sweet construction paper city scape. Today I decided to google construction paper art and was linked to this image. This scene was created by an artist named Helen Musselwhite and is pretty awesome. I'm hoping in the near future to create a website that takes this style and creates a beautiful usable webpage out of it.
